There is a wide range of survival kits according on the emerging needs and situation. Some examples of survival kits are wilderness survival kits, disaster survival kits, personal survival kits, and car survival kits, among others. The content of each kit also varies according to the situation. However, one should appreciate the importance of having such survival kits. 

Survival kits come in different forms and sizes as well. Some are handy or pocket-size, while some are as large as backpacks.

Pocket survival kits are obviously small that are ideal for campers, hikers and hunters. These survival kits often contain cords and threads, knife, duct tape, compass, whistle and safety pins. 

 Meanwhile, a fanny pack survival kits are often used by hikers, campers and bikers as well but contain supplies that could help them survive for three days. Generally, these kits contain food and water, medical supplies, personal supplies and emergency tools.

 Lastly, the backpack survival kit contain more items like first aid materials, light and signal supplies, food and water and emergency shelter. Specifically, a thermal blanket, compass, flashlight, ready-to-eat meals, cord and ropes, and fishing kit can be found inside it. This survival kit is intended for a long stay in the woods, for instance.
